まず遮光カーテンが2枚組でこのお値段は破格、とても有り難いです。

が、ベージュを頼んだのですが実物はかなり色が薄くてどう見てもアイボリー…ベージュっぽい茶色さはほぼ無いですね。

タッセルはダサすぎるので他のを使います。
遮光なので結構重いです。クリップよりカーテンロッドに通して使うのがオススメです。

I was looking for high quality curtains for my new flat. I wanted a brand which could offer different colours and sizes so that I can put them up in different rooms on both doors and windows. I did not want my flat to have various types of curtains in different rooms. This AmazonBasics blackout curtain had all that I wanted alongwith the trust of an Amazon brand. However, there were numerous things that I did not like about this curtain(which I will mention later in the review) and finally replaced it with the Amazon Brand- Solimo Magnolia Curtains. Now I will mention the pros and cons of this curtain separately.

PROS

1) COMPLETE BLACKOUT: I don't think that anyone has to look any further than this if he wants blackout curtains to block unwanted sunlight. Not only does this curtain completely blocks sunlight from entering the room but also checks the entry of unwanted and distant noises which can be very disturbing at times. These curtains are perfect to create a night like ambiance during the day which helps you take that extra hours of sleep during the day or a quick nap in the afternoon.

2) DIFFERENT COLOURS AND LENGTHS AVAILABLE: The AmazonBasics blackout curtain comes in White, Taupe, Smoke Blue, Light Grey, Dark Grey, Seafoam Green, Black, Navy and Biege colours in 5.25(set of 2 for ₹1899), 7(set of 2 for ₹1499) and 8(set of 2 for ₹1299) feet lengths with a width of 52 inches. This wide range of colours allows you to decorate your entire house with same quality curtains to avoid a piecemeal decoration.

3) TIEBACKS INCLUDED: This curtain comes with tiebacks which gives you the added benefit of doing your curtain in a stylish manner to add that charm and grace to your room during any special occasion.

4) HEAVY MATERIAL: This double panelled curtain is so sturdy that it does not flutter with the fan wind. It stays in its place and the darkness of your room remains intact so that there is no disturbance in your room.

CONS

1) I don't think this curtain is fit for interior decoration. It has a very commercial kind of look which can spoil the aesthetics of your home. It only solves the purpose of blocking light and hence, it cannot be used as a theme curtain because we do not have to block light everywhere. Most of the people who saw it for the first time said that it looked like a hospital curtain.

2) Although the company claims that the curtain is machine washable but just by the look of its material it doesn't seem so. Many other buyers have complained about the curtain getting discolored or the fabric getting torn upon machine washing( I did not wash my curtain).

3) Although the curtain comes with tiebacks so that we can settle the crease at one place for an elegant look but the quality of the curtain is such that the crease doesn't stay in its place. The material is too heavy to sustain any crease for long and the curtain ends up looking really messy with its high ability to pick up wrinkles.

4) The concept of the Rod Pocket is a disaster to say the least. The curtain does not slide freely on the road eventhough I put it up on an AmazonBasics rod. Moreover, you will have to make the crease each time you slide the curtain. Its only good that these curtains are used on windows which never have to be opened and neither the curtains have to be sliden.

mediumweight and thin curtains, nice soft material, block light very effectively. their medium weight also ensures that the curtains are not swaying when u turn the fan on.
i use them only to reduce the glare when watching the TV during daytime. You can see in the pic that they do a good job at that.

Good quality curtains

Pro :
Been using them for a few weeks. The quality is formidable ! It has at least 2 layers. It comes with the tie backs. I make 2 turns so it tighter.
I wasn't sure which way I was suppose to put them in the barre so out it from the side who has 2 cuts so that it has that "froufrou" look as shown in the picture .
Con :
It doesn't close completely in the middle because it doesn't go through the bar holds it as shown in the picture. And because it doesn't close completely, some lights still pass through.
They gets wrinkle easily.

When the package arrived, the bag seemed to have been opened. But I still like it even though the grey I ordered isn't the one I expected. I might of have gotten a bit too big... it touches slightly the floor.
My friend said that it might burn because my heater won't pass through the thickness of the curtains.
I'll see how it goes and update the review if needed.

Zero light comes through these curtains (black)

I got these curtains for my daughter's nursery which is flooded with so much light... These curtains do an excellent job at blocking the light out! I got the black color and there is no light what so ever coming through the curtains. The only light that comes into the room is from the sides and top of my curtain rod. I might purchase a room darkening curtain rod for the purpose of being able to pull the curtains closer to the wall instead of ending out straight like regular curtain rods. And a hack for blocking out light from the top of your curtain rod - I folded up a flat sheet and layed it across the top of the curtain rod... did a pretty good job at keeping the light blocked.... The only reason I give these curtains 4 stars is because the material could be nicer... If it had some texture to it it would feel more luxurious... But you get what you pay for! These are cheap and do an excellent job at blocking out the light (black color).

100% Blackout Curtains

I bought the black colour 84” long blackout curtains for my bedroom to replace another brand’s so called blackout curtains that were covered in pinholes that let daylight to go through them. I am pleased to report that these Amazon curtains don’t have pinholes and don’t let any daylight to go through them. I “paired” these with the Amazon Basics wraparound curtain rod and they work very well.

These curtains are 100% blackout, meaning that no light goes through them. Of course light still comes from the top, sides and bottom of the curtains but this is no fault of the curtains and cannot be avoided unless you use a length that goes from ceiling to floor and you Velcro the sides of the curtains to the wall or window sill. I am using two long and thin cushions which I’ve rested against the curtain rod at the top to block light leakage from there and the wraparound curtain rod helps eliminate most of the light leaking from the sides. I still get some light coming from the bottom of the curtains but it is out of my range of vision when I am lying down so it doesn’t bother me.

The curtains come with similar fabric tie ins although I personally don’t use them and use instead a pair of magnetic ones that I bought from a Dollar store because those are easier to use.

The curtain fabric is not as stiff as the curtains that these Amazon brand ones replaced. They do feel and look a little like shower curtains but while shopping around, the majority if not all of similar type curtains, at this price range that I saw all feel about the same. Especially if you want them to be 100% blackout. Perhaps if the fabric had some texture to it would make them look more like ordinary curtains.

When I first hanged up these curtains, they were covered in creases from being tightly packaged but I was able to use a steamer to get rid of them relatively easily while they were hanging. And despite my relatively strong sense of smell, I can’t detect any bad odour coming from these curtains which is a big plus especially for curtains that are used in a bedroom. Another big plus in my opinion anyway, is that these curtains don’t have grommets which again in my humble opinion cheapen the look of any curtain.

Overall I am pleased with this purchase.

I love the colour of the curtains, but I still get some light peaking through the sides, the bottom, and the middle of the panel (see photos). I know this could be resolved by adding an extra curtain layer behind the blackouts, and also ordering a longer panel (if you don't mind having the curtains touching the floor), but wasn't this supposed to solve the problem straight-off the bat?

However, I still give it a thumbs up. For the lightness of the colour (light grey), I would still consider it effective as it keeps 95% of the light out. The price is affordable and you get bang for your buck. The only critique I have about the product was the condition I received it in, the panels were very wrinkled, but the type of material used was the culprit as well (-1 star), I wish they would add snaps or velcro on the sides, just so I can easily snap it shut and prevent the light from coming through in the middle.

I ordered the white ones and was surprised how thick they are. They definitely block light. I wasn't expecting that, but it's my fault. I didn't read this carefully and just wanted a short curtain to layer over a tension rod on my balcony to give me more privacy as I am now remote working from my kitchen and this secondary balcony has a view of the streets; but I also feel like I am in a fish bowl.

Curtain serves the purpose of giving me light in the top half of my balcony window while essentially darkening/ hiding the bottom half and keeping me working in a nice cocoon.

I am not a fan of the velcro tie backs though. I find them hideous because they are huge. Imagine the size of the band that goes around your arm when the doctor takes your blood pressure. Ick. This could be reduced in width by one or two thirds to make it more elegant.

I agree with another reviewer that these feel weird, like maybe it could be a table cloth. If texture is important to you, you might want to try something else.

Because I only need half of the height, I will be restyling mine using the excess fabric to create pockets to store items on the "curtain" - might as well have a nice craft project going during this time when we are all asked to stay at home.
