So you ever have someone cook for you(and you pay for it) ? & add too much salt, or pepper or any other spice? Comedy is like that. Hen pecking is like that. Too much & its overkill.
That's what this artist/author needs to figure out. Are they going to take themselves serious? tell a serious story? of survival amongst a bunch of Japanese college kids, getting shipped off to another world? or.. are they going to write about this dude, who's "Hen-pecked" by his female classmate? (is THAT the "grand adventure"?!)
The art is okay. The story just has too much comedy in it.
If you've ever read "Delicious in Dungeon" theirs some synergy that goes on with that story. like you can easily see the "mesh" of two different themes going together. My point with saying that, is you have adventure mixed with cooking, but its a real nice fit.
What we have going on here in, Loner life in another world, so far, is not a "nice fit" its like ramming a square peg in a round hole, you lose some material in the process.
That being said I don't hate this story, because I don't hate the Isekai genre. Love it as a matter of fact. I feel like this author/mangaka need to step up to the proverbial plate & do a better job.
The vibe I get, is the author/mangaka doesn't really know what they are aiming for so far, & are floundering around hardcore. BUT that's just my take... after reading a gazillion other manga.. You kinda get a feel for if the story is going to ultimately be good or not, long term.
