Not what I expected. No tie-ins to previous stories. No appearances of older characters. Didn't really connect with either the plot or the fake pirate language. Serious disconnect with the "heroine". Formula life mate sex. Didn't really grab my interest until almost to the end of the book. This is from the person who normally reads these in one day, and re-reads them occasionally. I have every one of the series either in book form, on kindle, or both. This took me two days to read, and just didn't hold me until the end. I could have read it from the library, as re-reading it has little interest to me. Sorry, this one just doesn't 'float my boat'.
Usually her books are great but for some odd reason this one wasn’t as good as all the other ones. It lacked something for some reason I like it when they are the macho vampire and they find their mate and they have to convince them that they’re not really a vampire but immortals and all that kind of stuff but this one just left a lot to be desired for some odd reason.. I hope she’s not getting tired of writing this because I love these books but the Other books were so much better. I didn’t like that there was two guys that could be her life mate and she was basically running the whole time the books seem shorter I don’t know what was up with this book but it just wasn’t the same as most of her books.
I was disappointed I this novel. I usually love Lynsay Sands` novels but this one was lackluster and lacked her usual tension and intriguing characters. The story was an odd mix of past and present and was boring. I will continue to follow the Argeneau stories because this one is representative of her writing expertise. Read her other novels before this one.
