Letter to Kamilla
This is stunningly beautiful collection of songs has been compiled to form a reply to Kamilla who is the great grandmother of the Musical Director of Mosaic Voices, the resident choir of a London Synagogue. Kamilla, who wrote a heart-rending letter to her children while imprisoned in Nazi-occupied Austria later perished in Auschwitz. The harmonies from this very gifted group of singers sung in the different tongues of the Jewish peoples pierce the heart. The melodies have been crafted with love and passion by the choir's brilliantly-gifted Composer and are wonderfully conveyed by the beauty and superb skill of the singers. The tears flow each time I listen to this cd which has been put together with such love and devotion. I have to hope that Kamilla hears the sweetness of their voices and the beauty of their message and knows that her letter was received and thus she did not write it in vain.
