I have to agree with other reviewers about the heroine: she was not so likable and I kept having the thought that she didn't deserve this good guy's devotion. But the Hero was a Good Guy and I loved that he had gone to America and proved himself. The chemistry between the two didn't sweep me away and in fact produced little emotional impact at all.
That said, the plot was interesting and the villain was clear from the very beginning and the author still managed to keep the tension going. It was a fun read and I read happily to the end . Suzanne Enoch remains on my auto-buy list!
